Maria Dueñas, born in Spain in 2002, won first prize and the Audience Prize at the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition, a stepping stone for young violinists.
In 2022, she signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon and released her debut album, Beethoven: Violin Concerto, etc., the following year. For this work, Maria won the Young Talent of the Year (Young Artist Award) at the Opus Classic Awards in 2024. Following this brilliant debut, her second album is a recording of Paganini's most difficult piece, 24 Caprices, which is said to be the demon of the violin. Caprices, which means "whimsical," are a genre that features visually appealing virtuosity. This album focuses on the Caprice and includes Caprices by various composers, including Saint-Saëns' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Berlioz, Sarasate, and contemporary composers Ortiz and Cervello.
