He is now deceased, and one of the "top three guitarists in the world." This work became a signpost that strengthened his future direction.
This was the second album under the name of Jeff Beck, released in 1976. It features harder and more dynamic playing than the previous album, "Blow by Blow."
The third track, "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat," is a cover of Charles Mingus. After the "Blow by Blow" tour, Jeff Beck participated in the recording of Stanley Clarke's album "Journey to Love" and did a session, which led to him becoming more interested in Jazz/Fusion after this album.
