This is the album that most naturally brings to fruition David Sanborn's style.
This is one of his masterpieces, which fuses the sophistication of late 70s fusion/contemporary jazz with urban groove at a high level.
Over a tight rhythm section based on funk and R&B, Sanborn's phrases unfold, sometimes sharp and sometimes mellow. The sound, which combines a cool atmosphere reminiscent of the nightlife scene with soulful energy, helped define the direction of crossover/smooth jazz at the time.
