The Musical Adventures of Lalo Schifrin
An experiment in fusing classical and jazz, titled Towering Toccata.
This 1977 work is an ambitious work by film music master Schifrin, in which he reconstructs Baroque musical forms in the context of modern jazz. The classical style of the toccata is modernized with jazz rhythms and harmonies. The exquisite combination of orchestra and jazz ensemble offers a new musical experience. This experimental masterpiece fully demonstrates Schifrin's versatility and musical curiosity.
