Nowadays it's known more as a theme song for a TV drama, but it was originally a commercial song.
The sixth single, released in May 1980. "RIDE ON TIME" was a tie-up song for a Maxell UD cassette tape commercial. The B-side "RAINY WALK" was a single cut from the fourth album "MOONGLOW."
"RIDE ON TIME" was the first song recorded by the lineup of Jun Aoyama, Hiroki Ito, Kazuo Shiina, and Hiroyuki Namba, who would become long-time recording and live partners. "RAINY WALK" was written by Minako Yoshida, and composed and arranged by Tatsuro Yamashita. It was a spare song for Anne Lewis, but she gave it to me and I finished it for myself.
