This was the first album released on the CTI label.
The former Japanese title was "Blue Horizon" and the original release was in 1971. This is a limited edition of the "CTI-ORIGINAL 1500 SERIES" released in 1978.
This was the first album released by the CTI label, which had been independent from A&M. The opening number, Miles Davis' "So What," features a superb performance that goes "beyond the realm of jazz," led by the rhythm section of Ron Carter (bass) and Jack DeJohnette (drums).
