This is the soundtrack album composed and arranged by Dave Grusin for the film "Winning." It is one of his early film scores.
Grusin freely combines elements of jazz, orchestral, and the pop and funk of the time to construct the background music for the film. He displays a wide range of approaches depending on the scene, from light jazz waltzes to tense rhythm sections and magnificent strings. His sense of melody and refined harmonic sense are displayed within the framework of film music. This is a brilliant early work that foreshadows his later success in the fusion scene.
