70年代後半のフュージョン／コンテンポラリー・ジャズの洗練と、都会的なグルーヴを高次元で融合させた代表作のひとつ。
ファンクやR&Bを基調としたタイトなリズム・セクションの上で、サンボーンのフレーズは時にシャープに、時にメロウに展開。ナイト・シーンを思わせるクールな空気感と、ソウルフルな熱量が同居するサウンドは、当時のクロスオーヴァー／スムース・ジャズの方向性を決定づけたものでもある。
