Dazz Bandによる1982年作。ホーンとリズムが緊密に絡むアンサンブルで、“Party Right Here”がR&Bチャート上位を記録。ライブ感と構築美が融合した作品。
冒頭からドラムとベースが強く噛み合い、ホーンが切り込む瞬間にDazz Bandらしい緊張感が生まれる。ファンクの肉体性とアーバンな洗練が共存し、80年代モータウンの進化形を体現している。代表曲“Party Right Here”はR&Bチャートで上位入りし、翌年グラミー賞を受賞する流れを築いた。リズムの精度とホーンセクションの鋭さが際立ち、アンサンブル全体がタイトにまとまっている。プロダクションは明快で、ベースとシンセの低域処理も秀逸。ダンスフロアに直結しつつも、音楽的完成度の高さで聴かせるファンク・クラシック。
