1979年のこのアルバムは、彼女の詩人としての側面とロックミュージシャンとしての才能が、より洗練された形で表現されている。タイトル曲「Wave」では、海の波のような感情の起伏を、抽象的でありながら力強い言葉で紡ぐ。トッド・ラングレンのプロデュースにより、サウンドは前作よりもポップでアクセシブルになりながらも、彼女の芸術性は損なわれていない。
