Junko Ohashi's third best album, which has been attracting a lot of attention in recent years due to the global popularity of city pop, is finally being released on the revived super high-end vinyl record "100% Pure LP"!
The album features danceable urban groove numbers that are popular overseas, such as "Telephone Number" and "I LOVE YOU SO," as well as the magnificent ballad "Twilight," which highlights her overwhelming vocal ability, and "Love is Magic," which features a duet with Monta Yoshinori!
"100% Pure LP" first appeared in 2012. It garnered attention from around the world as a pioneer of modern high-quality vinyl records, garnering attention as a groundbreaking new Made in Japan quality record. One of its key features is its use of "uncolored virgin vinyl." By eliminating all colorants, such as carbon, typically used in vinyl records, which can affect sound, and using only pure, straight vinyl chloride, the process ensures superior molding stability. Another key feature is the adoption of "metal master pressing." By eliminating the metal mother and stamper used in the conventional vinyl pressing process and pressing directly from the metal master, the LP achieves incredibly faithful groove formation. However, due to its lower durability, pressings are limited in quantity. No matter how well-crafted the vinyl and pressing techniques, they are meaningless without the accompanying sound source. For this release, 96kHz/24-bit WAV files were newly transferred from the finest analog master tapes carefully selected for each track, and the mastering was as flat as possible to preserve the sound's freshness and dynamic range. The goal is to create a natural, faithful sound. Furthermore, this release utilizes the 45 rpm format typically used for 12-inch singles, rather than the 33 rpm of standard LPs. While this shortens the recording time on each side, it is a two-disc set, allowing for wider and longer grooves. The faster rotation speed also improves stability, resulting in significant advantages in detail reproduction and richer volume. By thoroughly pursuing every step of the process, from master and vinyl selection to pressing, this "100% Pure LP" maximizes the value of vinyl. The resulting sound is both fresh and elegant.
