Since her debut with "Wadatsumi no Ki" in 2002, vocalist Chitose has showcased her unparalleled voice and presence on a variety of stages. Celebrating her 16th anniversary since her debut, and reaching a period of fulfillment in her singing career, she released a new album of "Amami Shima Uta" (Songs of Amami), the origins of her singing, in November 2018. Active as a singer of Shima Uta (Songs of Amami) in her hometown of Amami Oshima since her teens, the album, which she said she "wanted to leave behind Shima Uta sung in her current voice," has received critical acclaim from many quarters, and now a remix vinyl edition has been released that further brings out the untapped potential and appeal of the songs on this album. Participating artists include Ryuichi Sakamoto, one of Japan's leading musicians and close friends with Moto Chitose; Shintaro Sakamoto, who has expanded his activities both domestically and internationally with his own unique style since the dissolution of Yura Yura Teikoku; Ras G, a pioneer of dope beats based on jazz and hip-hop; Tim Hecker, a genius who is building a new world of ambient music through collaborations with different genres; Chihei Hatakeyama, a new Japanese talent who is also highly acclaimed overseas; and Dorian Concept, a genius performer and producer born in Vienna.The lineup includes innovative artists from various genres!
