Anne Young sings with a rich emotion and vibrancy. The Yuji Ohno Trio brings out her charm to the fullest. The absolute masterpiece "Speak Low" is captivating.
This is the first album that American club singer Ann Young recorded when she visited Japan in 1975. Backed by the trio of Yuji Ohno, Yoshio Ikeda, and Yasuyoshi Okayama.
Featuring the lustrous and dynamic masterpiece "Speak Low," this is a masterpiece long sought after both in Japan and overseas. While attention tends to be focused on this song, this album is packed with the charm of Anne Young's emotional singing, including the light and refined "Old Devil Moon," the graceful and beautiful "Autumn In New York," and the heartfelt "Don't Explain." The arrangements and performances, which bring out and enhance that charm to the fullest, are also superb. This work is also attracting attention as one of Ohno Yuji's precious piano trio works.
