The second album by British alternative band Suede
This album was the last recording by guitarist Bernard Butler, who had grown tired of the band's unwanted popularity being raised to the exclusion of their musicality by lead singer Brett Anderson's scandalous comments following their first album, which reached number one in the US charts.
The band was a little nervous about starting anew, welcoming 17-year-old Richard Oakes on guitar, but the level of completion of this album is different from that of their first album; you can feel the band's original appeal growing on this album.
