Hazel English's album "Real Life," produced in collaboration with Day Wave, is now available for the first time physically! A gift for fans of dreamy, bittersweet indie pop.
This album is a collection of songs that Hazel English, an indie pop singer-songwriter originally from Sydney and currently based in LA, collaborated on with her friend Jackson Phillips, aka Day Wave, from 2021 to 2024.
Following the immediate sales of the vinyl version of their 2022 album "Summer Nights EP," which prompted numerous requests for a re-release, the album "Real Life" features five tracks from the EP, plus two singles and two later tracks released after the EP's release. The album features 11 tracks, all co-written by Hazel English and Day Wave. Many of the tracks return to their roots in the comfortable bedroom-inspired indie pop/dream pop of their pre-debut album "Just Give In" / "Never Going Home" era, and two tracks, "All Dressed Up" and "Jesse," feature duets with Day Wave. Other tracks include "When You're Around" and "Heartbreaker," where nostalgic melodies and Hazel English's vocals perfectly intertwine, perfectly expressing the current soundscape of their debut album and beyond.
