Shonen Knife's memorable first release was the self-produced cassette tape "Minna Tanoshiku Shonen Knife" released in 1982. Following the highly acclaimed first LP and CD releases, it has been decided that the album will be released on two different colored vinyl versions inspired by the jacket artwork!
This extremely rare item, rumored to have only been produced in 89 copies, is being released on LP and CD for the first time, and is available in two colored vinyl versions: pink and green.
This truly is a treasured album, featuring early versions of tracks that would later appear on their first three albums, such as "Burning Farm," "Banana Leaf," and "Summertime Boogie," as well as tracks that can only be heard on this release. The mastering was handled by musician and music producer Yasushi Utsunomiya, who was also involved in the recording and production of Shonen Knife's early albums. Their first album, "Burning Farm," released in 1983 on Zero Records, was later released on cassette in 1985 by K Records, run by US indie heavyweight Calvin Johnson. Kurt Cobain, who likely picked up the cassette, fell in love with it and selected Shonen Knife to open for Nirvana on their UK tour, helping them become a global presence. This is where it all began!
