The original soundtrack for the film "Brutalist" features music by Daniel Blumberg, also known for his work with UK indie bands Cajun Dance Party and Yuck!
Opening with a captivating 10-minute overture, Daniel Blumberg's music underpins the epic story of fictional Hungarian architect László Tóth as he rebuilds his life in post-war America.
The Brutalist score, spanning large-scale brass orchestras, intimate, lyrical piano melodies, and freewheeling, improvisational jazz, is as ambitious as the film itself: a measured, restrained score that sonicly embodies the Brutalist design aesthetic. To create its singular sound, Blumberg collaborated with musicians and improvisers, traveling across the UK and Europe with custom-built remote recording equipment to record with the performers in situ.
