Of the solo albums released by the four members of KISS in 1978, Peter Criss's is the most "unorthodox." Contrary to his flashy makeup and fiery performance, he is soft, warm, and introspective. The opening song "I'm Gonna Love You" has a hint of soul and funk, and the following "You Matter to Me" has a disco-like beat. The ballad "Don't You Let Me Down" features a sad vocal that resonates in the heart.
