This collection features all 41 takes in their entirety, showcasing the immeasurable influence that continued to have on rock and blues music, achieved with just a guitar and vocals.

His deep, resonant vocals and intricate guitar work create an overwhelming presence. His bottleneck slide technique and simultaneous rhythm and melody progression had a profound impact on later rock guitarists. This album contains all 41 recordings he made in San Antonio in 1936 and Dallas in 1937. It won the Grammy Award for Best Historical Album in 1991 and reached number 80 on the US album charts.
