An innovative solo debut album depicting a bass-driven universe
This work centers around the bass but incorporates a variety of arrangements to present a sound image and expressiveness that will shake up preconceived notions.
From the opening bebop to soul-funk and string and percussion arrangements, the album blends a diverse range of styles with a single bass. The harmonic solo in "Portrait of Tracy" combines technique and poetry, creating a symbolic performance that expands the instrument's possibilities. "Continuum" utilizes soft melodies and lingering resonances to add dimension to the sound. The presence of the bass and the intricate structure of the overall album are striking.
