"I Call Your Name," included in this album, was John Lennon's "first song ever composed." In 1963, it was written for and sung by British singer Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, and was later self-covered with a ska arrangement for this album.
Including "Long Tall Sally," this is the first EP to feature unreleased songs by The Beatles, making it a unique album.
