The band that sparked the techno pop boom has released their second album, a timeless masterpiece that shines brightly in the history of Japanese rock pop.
A historic hit album that begins with the familiar "TOKIO" vocoder.
Compared to the first album, which had many Hosono songs, this one had more songs by Sakamoto and Takahashi, and contained the big hits "Technopolis" and "Rydeen," as well as "Behind the Mask," which was later covered by Clapton and Michael Jackson. The band embarked on their first world tour the month after the release, and this album was more geared toward not only Japan but also the world than the first. The Mao suits and techno cuts on the cover were a big hit, riding on the YMO boom.
