Living legend Don Letts covers The Clash's London Calling with a punky reggae sound, featuring Mighty Crown's Masta Simon as the introductory MC.The artwork, which uses a different take of THE CLASH's "BLACK MARKET CLASH," was created by graphic artist Kosuke Kawamura. The 10-inch vinyl, with the same specifications as THE CLASH, is s Living legend Don Letts has produced a cover version of The Clash's "LONDON CALLING" in memory of Joe Strummer. This limited edition vinyl release marks the first time it's been released. It's a modern electric dub version that perfectly captures the spirit of Don Letts, who continues to reinvent himself and remain at the forefront of music today. Former BAD member DAN DONOVAN and dub artist DUBMATIX contributed to the production. Additionally, MIGHTY CROWN's MASTA SIMON, who became close friends with Don Letts during last year's Japan tour, participated as the introductory MC. At Don Letts' 2024 Tokyo show, MASTA SIMON popped in to DON LETTS' DJ set, sending the crowd into a frenzy. His intro MC performance is a re-enactment of that night. While currently on hiatus as MIGHTY CROWN, MASTA SIMON participated in the special dub version for Don Letts. The jacket features a rare take of the iconic photo of Don Letts heading towards the police, famously featured on the cover of The Clash's "Black Market Clash." The artwork, which will make you want to display it alongside The Clash's original 10-inch, was created by graphic artist Kosuke Kawamura. This is the first release from Rebel Dread Hardware, a project in which Don Letts is a member. |
