The concept is "Tokyo." The band portrays the ever-changing megalopolis through performances filled with sharp sensitivity and creativity.

This album was previously released as part of Victor's "Japanese Jazz" series.

"It doesn't matter if it doesn't sell, let's make a record that smells of culture. I want Japanese people to play jazz for Japanese people." Inspired by the director's words, Hiroshi Matsumoto decided to record this work, "Megalopolis." The concept was "Tokyo." He was inspired by the view of Tokyo, which was rapidly changing, from inside the plane. Matsumoto, Hideo Ichikawa, Kunimitsu Inaba, and Motohiko Hino set up in a circle so that they could see each other's faces and movements, and deliberately did not have detailed meetings to record. The album includes the suite-like masterpiece "A Day in the City," "Nostalgia," which depicts a longing for something lost, "Megalopolis," which has a refreshing and exciting bird's-eye view of the city, "Serenade," which exudes bittersweet ennui, and "Irritation in the City," which digs into the depths of the soul. It is a masterpiece that depicts a huge city and the people who live there, with a performance full of sharp sensitivity and creativity. The original was released as one of Victor's "Japanese Jazz" series. [text by Yusuke Ogawa (UNIVERSOUNDS / DEEP JAZZ REALITY)]
