This is a masterpiece that captures the artist's thoughts and the scenery of Europe after he moved there.
Released in 1981. The Japanese title is "European Afternoon". It is a very pleasant album to listen to, including the original song "Afternoon in Europe", which has a melody reminiscent of a quiet European afternoon.
Since moving to Europe in 1961, he has been mainly based in Denmark, and this album was released 20 years after his move. His piano playing is even more outstanding than ever, and the rhythm section that supports his performance includes Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (bass) and Ed Thigpen (drums), giving the album a European feel that is loved by people other than jazz fans as well.
