It is no exaggeration to say that this is the best album from Deep Purple's second golden age, as it is packed with eight of their most representative songs, including live recordings.
The live recordings on "Black Night" are something fans have been waiting for. Although the album mainly features "Made in Japan," which is said to be the best live album, it is a work that makes you feel the greatness of the band once again. "Woman from Tokyo" is the last song of Deep Purple's second period, sung by Ian Gillan as a song dedicated to Japan.
