Officially released recording from the recently unearthed master tape, officially authorized by the Munich Philharmonic!
A historic, unreleased and extremely valuable recording from the Herkulessaal at the Munich Residenz.
The master tapes had gone missing, but were recently unearthed in the orchestra's vast archives. The sound source was remastered in the home country, and for the domestic SACD hybrid version, Atsuo Fujita further mastered it for SACD with DSD mastering, so that the effects could be seen on CD as well. This resulted in a more beautiful sound with a fuller resonance, a richer sense of space, and a coexistence of weight and softness.
