A vibrant transition to uplifting 80s pop
The Pointer Sisters teamed up with producer Richard Perry on this album, which clearly defined their synth-pop direction. It includes the first-ever version of their later hit, "I'm So Excited."
Richard Perry's sound production, featuring synthesizers and drum machines, strongly reflects the cutting-edge dance music of the time. The sisters' vocal harmonies remain powerful amid the electronic sound, creating a sense of exhilaration. "I'm So Excited" has a strong R&B-influenced arrangement at the time of this release, but its catchy melody was already complete. This work marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band.
