This ambitious work, centered around R&B and soul, brings a genuine black music sensibility to the Japanese rock scene.
This work was released after Funny Company disbanded, during a period when her individuality as a vocalist became more clearly apparent.
Her thick, powerful vocals are overwhelmingly persuasive, regardless of whether the lyrics are in English or Japanese, and they blend beautifully with a sound that is heavily influenced by mid-70s American soul/funk. The tight rhythm section, sharp guitars, and restrained horns and keyboards create an urban, slightly dangerous mood.
