This album takes a step into sophisticated AOR/country rock.
The album brings together three key figures from the West Coast scene: former Byrds member Chris Hillman, Poco's Richie Furay, and JD Souther.
The smooth, urban arrangements blend with warm country-inspired harmonies, clearly showcasing the songwriting individuality of each of the three members. The melody-driven songs represent the maturation of the Los Angeles sound at the time.
