This legendary debut album clearly showed the band's future direction, featuring songs that could be considered the prototype of heavy metal.
It reached number 8 on the UK Albums Chart, and number 23 on the US Billboard Albums Chart upon its release in May. It remained on the charts for a long time, selling over one million copies.
The opening track, 'Black Sabbath', begins with the sounds of a thunderstorm and church bells, followed by Ozzy's roar and Tony's muddy guitar sound. The album also includes the end-of-the-century 'NIB' and 'The Wizard', with its impressive dark blues riffs that will have you thinking it's a true black magician. This is a must-have album for any Black Sabbath fan!
