Blues/R&B 7-inch singles (45s) have skyrocketed in value as they've been categorized into genres/music styles like New Breed and Popcorn. P-VINE is launching a series to reissue these 7-inch singles in their original form!
The Queen of Blues, Koko Taylor, has reissued her memorable debut single, released in 1963 and produced by Willie Dixon, a leading figure in the Chicago blues scene!
The highlight of the album is the B-side, "Honky Tonky." Opening with a light piano lick from Rafiyet Riek, this is a swinging, upbeat rockin' blues piece penned by the artist himself, featuring a catchy R&B-infused melody and punchy vocals. The lively baritone saxophone is unique and soothing. The cute R&B ballad "Like Heaven To Me" is also well worth a listen.
