The greatest live jazz recording ever made.Originally released in 1961, this is the best performance by the trio of Bill Evans (Pf.), Scott LaFaro (Ba.) and Paul Motian (Dr.) and is such a classic that it has been reissued many times. Scott LaFaro (bass) died in an accident 11 days after the recording of this album, so it was his last performance. Influenced by this, Bill Evans entered a period of extreme slump after the release of this album. |
