Russian-Finnish Concerto
A masterpiece featuring Oistrakh's elegant violin playing.
This recording features two of the greatest concertos, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius. Oistrakh's rich tone and musicality bring out the drama inherent in each piece. His performance with the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Eugene Ormandy was also superb, and this recording still shines as an ideal performance of the violin concerto.
