A tasteful debut album that combines the simplicity of the time on the eve of sophistication with an already highly refined pop sensibility.
Although they are known for the sophisticated AOR sound they produced in later years, this album still has a strong earthy West Coast rock feel, capturing the atmosphere of the mid-70s.
The songs, which combine rock with a foundation of blues and country with refreshing choruses and melodic developments, already exude the "comfort" that is unique to Pablo Cruise. The performance is characterized by an emphasis on band ensemble rather than flashiness, and the relaxed groove and sincere songwriting run throughout the album.
