Melodic synths intertwine over hard beats, creating a coexistence of cold and warmth. Tracks like "Plan 9" and "Europa" blur the boundaries between electronica and pop, creating a band-like dynamism. 808 State's distinctive layered sound design is now more refined, making this album enjoyable to listen to beyond the context of the club scene.
