A record of the legendary bassist's birthday frenzy.
This passionate album features live recordings of Jaco Pastorius's 30th birthday performance.
This recording captures Jaco's birthday concert in Florida in December 1981. Featuring members of Weather Report and other distinguished guests, the performance is full of improvisation and explosive energy. His virtuoso bass technique and charisma as a leader are on full display, and the sense of unity with the audience is vividly conveyed. Though released posthumously, this is a valuable live recording of Jaco at the height of his powers.
