70年代のクラシック・ソウルを再構築したアルバムで、ストリングスと生演奏中心の温かい音作りが特徴。リード曲「Sometimes I Cry」はR&Bソングスチャート16位を記録。フェイス・エヴァンスとのデュエット「Feel Good」や、エディ・レヴァート参加の「Paid」など、多彩なゲストを迎えつつも全体に統一感を保つ。アイズレー・ブラザーズやアル・グリーンへの敬意が随所に表れ、彼のスムースかつ深みあるヴォーカルが際立つ。
