This is his first solo album, created in parallel with his activities with Genesis.
His first solo album, released in 1981, includes "In the Air Tonight," which was used in the pilot episode of the TV drama "Miami Vice," "I Missed Again," which was later recut, and "If Leaving Me Is Easy."
It topped the UK Album Chart for three consecutive weeks and reached number seven on the US Billboard 200. It was more commercially successful than its parent group Genesis, and marked the beginning of his subsequent solo career. Eric Clapton appears on guitar on the fourth track, "The Roof is Leaking," and the eleventh track, "If Leaving Me Is Easy."
