This is one of the signature songs of a band that is often mistaken for other bands.
The first single released in 1970. It was a big hit in Japan during the "Dutch Sound" boom led by The Shocking Blue, which began in the late 60s. The B-side "Hazy Paradise" was not included on the album.
Although they are a band from the Netherlands, they are one of the bands that never had a hit in the UK or the US. They are often mistaken for "Earth, Wind & Fire" even though they are in a different genre.
