A double A-side project album coupling two major hit songs.
A single coupling "California Dreamin'" released in 1965 and "Monday, Monday" released in 1966. A re-cut release to promote the second album, "The Mamas & The Papas."
Their signature song, "California Dreamin'," gradually gained recognition, mainly through radio, and became a huge hit around the world. In particular, in Japan, it was made into a TV drama of the same name in 2002, and became a revival hit. Incidentally, "Monday, Monday" is the group's only song to reach number one on the US singles chart.
