Double A-side album featuring songs without members
A double A-side with an elaborate synth-disco design, it reached number 11 in the West German charts and number 66 in the UK charts.
"Children Of Paradise," featuring Liz Mitchell's lead vocals and layered choruses, entered the German charts in October 1980 and remained there for 11 weeks. Meanwhile, "Gadda-Da-Vida," featuring vocals by producer Frank Farian and La Mama's chorus intersecting over a tight drum beat, sparked controversy as none of the original members participated in the song, reflecting the discord that had developed between Farian and the group.
